Chlorambucil Tablets BP 5 mg is a chemotherapy drug used to treat certain cancers, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and some types of autoimmune diseases like nephrotic syndrome. Chlorambucil is an alkylating agent that works by interfering with the DNA of cancer cells, preventing their growth and division, which ultimately leads to cell death.

The 5 mg dosage is typically taken orally, often as part of a treatment regimen that may be adjusted based on the condition being treated and the patient’s response. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, mouth sores, hair loss, and suppression of bone marrow (leading to low blood cell counts, which increases the risk of infections, bleeding, and anemia).
